Parkings in Venice. 2: Free

Exchanger parking areas

All around the town of Mestre there is some peripheral free parkings, located near the main roads to the urban centre and close to bus stops. The principal ones are laid out close to the peripheral way ("tangenziale"), the main road which you fattening while leaving the toll of the motorway in Venice, following direction "Trieste". Free and without stop limits, they are intended especially for the users who envisage a long stop, like pendular for reasons of study or work, tourists, etc.

Once parked there the car, you can continue the trip to Venice by public buses. Normally there you can have a stop of intermediate duration, i.e. some hour or all the day. However, especially during the summer, one can also use it for several days.

It should be remembered that the entry of some parking is closed from 10 pm to 6 am (even if someone is always opened, because there is no bar access).

From park-and-ride carparks outside Mestre you can easily reach Venice (Piazzale Roma)

by bus. Buy bus tickets at the nearest tobacconist or coffe shop. After purchasing, you must stamp your tickets on buses. On non-working days and weekdays from 8 pm until 7 am, you can buy your ticket on board the bus, by asking the driver. The cost is higher than the tickets normally available from any outlets.

Between different the exchanger parking areas we advise you the following:

P1: Marghera B - Via Trieste, locality Marghera (VE)

It's closest at the exit to the motorway which arrives of Milan/Padoue to Venice. For this reason it is often complete. The cars are not the shelters of the trees. To arrive there while leaving the Milan-Venice motorway:

1) out of the motorway,take the exit on the left, towards Venice (not to go up, on the peripheral);

2) at the roundabout which you meet immediately, make a half-turn and turn towards "Marghera";

3) after 100 meters, at the other roundabout (that of "Piazzale Parmesan") make a full rotation and turn towards "Catene";

4) The entry is after 100 meters.

P7: Miranese A - Via Miranese, under the peripheral way or "tangenziale", locality Mestre (VE)

It's the second carpark closer the exit of the motorway from Milan to Venice. It's a large area and is easily found a free place. The cars are parked safe from the peripheral way.

To arrive there  leaving the Milan-Venice motorway:

1) continue straight and take the peripheral way, direction "Trieste"

2) take the second exit, named "via Miranese"

3) at the roundabout which you meet immediately, make a half-turn and turn towards "Mestre";

4) the entry is on the left, after 50 meters, before the fire.

P4: Favaro A - Via Altinia, locality Favaro Veneto (VE)

It is the parking more far from the exit of the motorway Milan-Venice, but for this reason is one of quietest and there is places free almost everytime. Moreover, it's placed in front of the bus terminal for Venice (25/30 min. to Piazzale Roma). The cars are not at shelter of the trees. To arrive there leaving the Milan-Venice motorway:

1) continue straight and take the peripheral way, direction "Trieste";

2) pass all the exits of Mestre town ("Via Miranese", "Via Castellana", "Terraglio");

3) after a gasoil distributor, turn towards "Belluno - Areoporto";

4) immediately, still turn towards "Areoporto - Jesolo";

5) leave at first exit, following the indication "Dese";

7) at the roundabout, turn to the first exit, towards "Dese";

8) pass the small Dese town and follow the road: after 3 km you see a panel with the name of the town Favaro Veneto;

9) after 100 meters, you will see on the right a bus stop and, on the left, the carpark.

Leave at the second exit, named "via Miranese"

At the roundabout make a half-turn and turn towards "Mestre - Via Miranese"

The entry of the carpark is on the left of the exit towards Mestre

Particular of the entry with the hours in which the carpark is open.

The cars are safe from the peripheral way.

The carpark is rather big and you can find easily a place.

P4: Favaro has - Via Altinia, locality Favaro Veneto (VE)

On the peripheral way, pass all the exits of Mestre until " Via Terraglio"

After the distributor, turn towards "Belluno - Areoporto"

Immediately, still turn towards "Areoporto - Jesolo"

Take the first exit, following "Dese"

At the roundabout, turn to the first exit, towards Dese

Follow the road: after 3 km you see the sign of Favaro Veneto town

After 100 meters, on the left you find the carpark
